Metzger's "flayling trees" seems an appropriate art work for "forests"
as does D H Lawrence's "The triumph of the machine" http://www.kalliope.org/digt.pl?longdid=lawrence2001061629a.

"World biodiversity in crisis" free lectures at Birkbeck Fridays at 6.30 until 18th March

some ideas which might span psychogeography and forest?

Ideas from the book "Psychogrography" by Merlin Coverley
in the Last chapter: psychogeography today
"Blake has been identified as the godfather of psychogeography"

JG Ballard has talked about the "Death of Affect"- the loss of emotional engagement with our surroundings and the behavioural impact of urban space.

Iain Sinclair- mines a vertical seam through the city's past.

I went to a lecture on biodiversity at Birkbeck last Friday where we were reminded of the environmentalist's slogan: "Think global -act local."
We were recommended to look at the book "Biophilia" by E O Wilson
Biophilia- the connections that human beings subconsciously seek with the rest of life.

Hi,

The question is...

How many dimensions are in a 2D? And just who is missing what?

Does everything have a beginnning?

Welcome to 'flatland', an exploration of missing or perhaps redundant dimensions in art and commentary.
